Noëlla Roos is currently based in Bali, Indonesia. She has worked extensively with local dancers from the Peliatan area and their brilliantly-coloured costumes. She has painted traditional dances such as Legong, Baris, and Oleg. Noëlla also works with modern Indonesian dancers where a great deal of new, experimental dance is emerging. She paints the dancers in her studio in Sanur. Noëlla mainly worked with and painted the beautiful dancer, Dayu Indah. During this period her paintings became more “colourful” due to her deliberate use of deeper, richer colour and tone by glazing.
